Human Trial Using Embryonic Stem Cell Therapy Starts
October 15, 2010 in Science
Products developed from embryonic stem cells are being used in the first human clinical trials involving any type of human embryonic stem cell products.
The first human patient has already been injected with the product developed from the human embryonic stem cells. The patient suffered trauma to the spinal cord and possibly brain days before the injection. The patient is paralysed below the chest due to the trauma. It is the aim of this type of human clinical trial to actually regrow esential areas of the neurons in the spinal cord and brain that were damaged in the trauma.
